Article:
In order for you to understand how to rid yourself of bad breath you first need to understand what causes Halitosis (the medical term for bad breath). There are some bad breath treatments that work very well. We often get bad breath from the foods we eat.

Another major cause for halitosis is being lax in oral hygiene which allows more growth of bacteria in the mouth and down the throat. If the mouth is not sufficiently cleaned after a meal, small particles of food are left behind. These food particles are what the bacteria feed on in your mouth. This is why it is extremely important to at least rinse your mouth out with water several times after you eat anything. This will also help rinse any sugar left behind off of your teeth. This also helps to prevent cavities.

With the proper research you can find a cure that will work for you. There is no need for anyone to suffer with bad breath. Most dentists can help you find a cure. Of course this could get expensive depending on what is done. If you don’t want to go that route then there are some very good options for a cure. It will take some effort on your part but you will be successful with the right information. Below is a list of bad breath cures that you can try at home.

1)    Buy a tongue scraper if you don’t have one. Your tooth brush won’t do a good enough job and if you’re a gagger then the scraper is definitely for you. Clean your teeth, gums, cheeks, and tongue often. Use baking soda and a little water to brush your teeth. You can add a few drops of mint extract to give it that minty taste if you like.

2)    This may sound strange but there are enzymes in pumpkin that is known to kill bad bacteria in the mouth and in the intestines. Both of which can cause you to have bad breath. So it is suggested to eat pumpkin at least once a week.

3)    Mints can be a good way to temporarily freshen the breath long enough to get through the meeting at work or give you some confidence on that date. Mints that you chew or mint gum is best because the chewing causes saliva production to increase. This helps your mouth to naturally rinse itself out.

4)    It’s long been known that parsley helps to freshen the breath. This is how it got started being put on your plate at restaurants. Parsley contains chlorophyll and destroys bacteria, so try chewing you’re up next time you go out to dinner.

5)    You can make a homemade mouthwash by taking one quart of water bring to a boil then turn heat off. Add one green tea bag; take several sprigs of parsley and chop it up add three whole  gloves or a quarter teaspoon of ground clove. Add the same amount of mint leaves or one quarter teaspoon of mint extract. Steep this mixture in the water stirring a few times as it cools. Use this mouth wash a couple times a day and you will be amazed at the results.

6)    Avocado is very successful getting rid of bad breath. It has some healing properties for sore gums and more importantly, it is most efficient at removing intestinal putrefaction. This is one of the most significant causes of advanced halitosis.

7)    Unripe guava is useful to control halitosis. Known to be a good source of malic, oxalate, oxalic, and phosphoric acids as well as manganese, tannic, and calcium. Chewing the guava is  great tonic for the teeth and gums. Guava in its unripe form assists in the cure of bleeding gums and stops bad breath. Chewing the tender leaves of guava tree will also end the bleeding of gums.
